SandForce SSD Data Recovery

Expert evaluation for SF-2281 and other notoriously difficult SandForce controllers.

The SandForce Challenge

SandForce controllers (specifically the SF-2281 series) are among the most difficult SSD architectures in the data recovery industry. Due to their heavy reliance on hardware-level encryption and proprietary firmware compression, standard firmware "bypass" methods used on other controllers often fail here.

Lab Notice: Currently, there is no industry-wide "standard" firmware solution for unresponsive SandForce drives. However, Recovery Force has developed proprietary in-house techniques that have allowed for successful recovery in approximately 10% of unresponsive SandForce cases.

Our Approach

Is it worth the attempt?

While the success rate is lower compared to Silicon Motion or Phison controllers, if the data is critical, a lab evaluation is the only way to know if your drive falls within that 10% success window. We follow a No Data, No Recovery Fee policy—if we can't rescue your files, you don't pay the recovery fee.
