How much does data recovery cost? E-mail

The cost to recover data varies due to several factors:

  1. Is there internal damage?  If so, what is damaged?
  2. Is the PCB in good working condition?
  3. What file system is being used?
  4. Is the file system in tact?
  5. Is the firmware corrupt?
  6. How large is the hard drive?
  7. Is there media damage (aka bad sectors)?  If so, how bad is it?
  8. What was done since the data was lost?
  9. Has the drive been previously opened?  If so, is it contaminated?
  10. Is the drive part of a RAID system?  If so, what kind of RAID and how many drives?

Other factors include the time and cost to source the necessary parts drive and get it shipped in.  It is very difficult to determine the cost and time to recover a damaged hard drive without completing a hands on assessment.

Recovery Force has been working hard to lower the prices that clients pay.  The price range for a hard drive recovery is still between $300 and $2500 Canadian dollars; however, we are usually able to recover data from most drives for less than $1250.

To find out more about pricing for you individual situation, please call 866-750-3169 to talk to one of our team members or check out the price ranges that are listed on each of our services pages.

The recovery force team did for me what other recovery agencies tried to do and could not.  Hours of precious and priceless family videos and photos were recovered after I had been told they were lost forever.  I am forever grateful to the Coughey family and their staff for being so knowledgeable.  Keep up the amazing work.
